Collective dreaming is an act of hope
Singing Our Dreams is a collaborative project between Magma Rea and Emilie Lykkegaard, which explores possible futures through a workshop and improvisational performance.
Every performance is a unique expression based on the participants’ own dreams and words, combined with a generative music composition, which varies every time.
With this approach, we embrace the moment’s possibilites and the fragility of sharing unfinished thoughts and hopes for the future.

Workshop
We offer workshops as part of this project, which typically include writing exercises. The written output then becomes the basis of the performance. Themes can vary – here are some examples from our latest performances:
- KLIMAFOLKEMØDET 2025 // ‘KÆRE FREMTID – et fælles kærlighedsbrev’ (“DEAR FUTURE – a joint love letter”) – in collaboration with Generation Hope.
- HOPE FESTIVAL 2024 // ‘Singing Our Dreams’
- WEAll Conference 2024 // ‘Singing Our Dreams’

About the collaboration
Magma Rea
Songwriter, sound artist, facilitator and performer. Magma Rea works with regenerative culture and creates communities through concerts and workshops that cultivate hope, courage and presence. She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Climate Studies from the University of Copenhagen and University of Victoria (Canada). She recently worked with artistic communication of climate research in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen (SUSTAIN-ART-SCI). She is he co-founder of Ekkosystem – a music organization focused on ecological awareness and political utopia.
Emilie Lykkegaard
Sound artist and composer with an MSc in Audiodesign from Aarhus University. Her practice centers around care, patient listening and the experience of living a through a climate crisis. She made her debut performance at Roskilde Festival with Sounding Landscapes – a sound meditation based on the landscapes of Mols Bjerge in Denmark.
Together, Magma Rea and Emilie Lykkegaard developed the workshop/performance Singing Our Dreams. With a holistic approach, they safely guide the participants through both their own and their collective imagination, to demonstrate collective dreaming as a form of community. They’re currently developing Stemmer fletter fremtid (Voices Weave Futures) – a natural extension of this project, exploring the language we use about the future – in grief, longing and a radical hope for new beginnings.
