CONTAMINATION SITE (2024)

Slow deterioration and loss of landscapes

CONTAMINATION SITE is a durational installation and performance about the increasing contamination of our waters. Three water containers are displayed, along with a sound composition. The exhibited water is clear at first, but is contaminated with each performance.

In its stillness and slow deterioration, CONTAMINATION SITE resembles the lifeless nature of dead lakes – an increasing issue in Danish landscapes.

The performance consists of four acts:
During the first three performances, the water is contaminated.
The last performance is a farewell ceremony (‘Afsked’), where the water enters its final state: Marked as a CONTAMINATION SITE.

Exhibited at Specialefestivalen 2024 (Copenhagen).
