Sounding Landscapes: Growth in Perspective (2024)

Listening as activism

Sounding Landscapes: Growth in Perspective (2024) is a performance-installation, which explores Danish landscapes and how they affect us.

The composition examines landscapes without humans, but manmade technologies still leave traces throughout the experience:

From the sound of car engines, to the sound of airplanes.

In order to look forward, we must acknowledge that this is the sound of our modern landscapes. By welcoming noise pollution, Sounding Landscapes (2024) aims to connect the audience to their sorroundings, but without romanticizing nature as ‘pure’.

Growth in perspective

The composition invites the listener to embrace slowness and patience in their listening. Modern society is fast-paced, always on the lookout for optimization and effectivity.

Meanwhile, the trees grow. Slowly
The waves form and dissolve. Slowly.
We grow as humans. Slowly.
