Bringing the forest indoors
As part of ‘Matchpoints 2022’, an annual conference by Aarhus University, the students at Audiodesign created sound installations* to be exhibited at Moesgaard Museum. This installation was made by Jakob Lundø and myself as a site-specific sound installation which would envelop the room and encourage the visitors to listen to their sorroundings.
The installation consisted of four speakers playing different elements of a generative composition made from recordings of Moesgaard Forest. We collected the recordings on a field trip at 4 am in the morning, so we could catch the “dawn chorus” of the forest awakening.
